About Us

The Beginning - in Kampong Phluk

In 2010 Pagna began teaching free English classes to the children of Kampong Phluk.  He believes every child should have the opportunity to learn English and to get an education as this can lead to living more prosperous lives. By learning English the children can secure jobs in the tourism/hospitality industry, thereby lifting themselves out of poverty.

When he began, Pagna had no school to teach in so he taught in his house during the wet season and under his house during the dry season. Thanks to the generosity of tourists passing by he was able to supply pencils and notebooks to the children. Eventually a whiteboard, some desks and chairs were donated. The first school started he has 37 students and Today, over 200 children are taught English at the PCEF English language school in Kampong Phluk in seven classes per day, six days per week.

Lvea Village

In December of 2013 a new school opened in Lvea Village at the request of the villagers. Lvea Village is Pagna’s home village. He was born and raised in this farming community set amid beautiful rice paddies stretching as far as the eye can see.

In the beginning, the children were taught under Pagna’s father’s house while we tried to raise enough funds to build a small school. Thanks to many wonderful donors we did it!  The new school was built in May of 2014 and we are now teaching over 400 students from seven surrounding villages.

Community Programs:

In addition to building the English language school, our goal is to institute several community outreach programs which will benefit the community as a whole rather than just the children.  We believe that by offering assistance to family units rather than individual children we can provide a more holistic and sustainable way out of poverty.
